We’re excited to share that PackageRoute is now part of the Descartes Systems Group, a global leader in logistics technology. This milestone brings expanded resources, innovation, and reach — enhancing our ability to serve customers and partners across the supply chain.
As part of this acquisition, the features you’ve grown to love at PackageRoute will be brought into the Descartes GroundCloud platform, bolstering the automated compliance, safety, and routing that is already trusted by nearly 70% of Independent Service Providers (ISPs). This will ensure you maintain access to the functionality you rely on while providing even more ways to streamline your operations.
If you already have a GroundCloud account for QualCert or VEDR (vehicle event data recorders), you can login here.
If you don’t have a GroundCloud account yet, simply click the button below to create an account.

The functionality your team is used to with PackageRoute is already available within Descartes GroundCloud, along with some new opportunities to streamline operations for your fleet managers, drivers, and even administrative tasks. We understand you have important data in your PackageRoute account, such as driver notes, stop location data, and gate codes. We will seamlessly transfer that data to your Descartes GroundCloud account once you join the GroundCloud platform. Our team’s mission is to help your business run as smoothly – and profitably – as possible. We have added guiding resources to the platform to help with initial setup when you create a Descartes GroundCloud account, along with live onboarding sessions for in-depth walkthroughs of key features and functionalities. Something missing? Let us know.
Fleet Managers are able to assign drivers, dispatch, and monitor progress. Additionally, we have more opportunities to automate and streamline workflows to reduce some of the manual processes of fleet managers. While the workflow may be slightly different than your team is used to, our team is here to help make things as simple as possible.
Drivers can access the platform by downloading the Driver App on either Android or Apple products, whether that be a smart phone, tablet, or otherwise. We designed the Driver App to be as intuitive as possible, and it has been hailed as helping new drivers onboard quickly. Our team is producing content and resources to help drivers navigate the app and complete the processes they already know.
Overall business processes are extremely similar between the platforms, with some new automated efficiencies to save time on necessary administrative tasks and reporting. Our goal is to reduce the amount of time spent on manual processes so you can focus on making your business run efficiently, safely, and profitably.
Current pricing will be matched until 2026, at which point the standard Descartes GroundCloud pricing model will take effect. It is very similar and can be reviewed here. If you’re looking to take full advantage of the platform, it includes some great ways to centralize your operations and save.
Your current PackageRoute pricing will be matched.
When you switch over to Descartes GroundCloud, you will retain access to your PackageRoute account through the end of February 2026 to ensure a smooth transition of your team and account data. During this time you will not be billed for both accounts. Before January 31st, you should export your MMR and timecard data. These records will not transfer to Descartes GroundCloud, so it’s important to download and save anything you may need for compliance, audits, payroll, or historical tracking:
If your subscription renews and you are billed for any days after January 31, you will automatically receive a refund for the unused portion of your billing period. No action is required on your part- refunds will be applied to the original payment method shortly following January 31st.
We will have resources available for you to ensure your account is set up and data transferred, like vehicle creation, location notes, and geolocation updates. There is also a Driver Resource Center to help get your drivers up to speed: https://engage.descartes.com/driver-resource-center?fw=e74dc
The features you rely on are already built into Descartes GroundCloud, including auto-complete stops, mobile manager view, and enhanced stop list details. If anything feels unfamiliar, our team will help you find what you need and guide you through it. If any functionality is missing, please reach out and let us know. We want to make sure you’re able to continue running your operation efficiently.
You’ll have full access to Descartes GroundCloud’s U.S.-based support team — a group with over 20 years of combined experience working directly with Independent Service Providers (ISPs). We are offering live onboarding sessions (linked above on this page), where you can get walkthroughs of the platform, ask questions, and learn how to best utilize the platform for your operations. We’re also available by phone or email whenever you need us. 218-864-7900 option 2 or servicedesk@descartes.com
Drivers can use an iPad or a cell phone. The GroundCloud app is available in both the Apple store and Google Play Store. If you’d like to order tablets, Verizon offers free iPads with data at $20/month with a 2yr contract. To order iPads, please email verizon@groundcloud.com
